Chapter 4

     In this chapter, I learned that it is important to capture the audiences attention.  Using humor is a good way to keep the audience awake.  Burmark states, "To be effective, we need to accomplish two things:  1.  Get their attention.  2.  Make the presentation stick."  These days we are easily bored and making a presentation interesting and humorous is the only way to grab the audiences attention.  Burmark also states, "Remember to smile as you prepare and deliver your presentation because true joy is contagious."  I will definitely take into consideration what I have learned in this chapter in my work.  I want to be able to hold the audiences interest and for them to gain valuable information.  It is also important that the information they learned and was presented to them is relevant.  They need information that they will be able to take with them and apply it their work.
